Regent Residential School is hosting a Model United Nations (MUN) Conference from December 15 to 17. It’s an event where students get to play roles like diplomats and learn about how the United Nations works. The conference is a great opportunity for students to develop their understanding of global issues and practice important skills like debating and problem-solving.
Model UN is like a game that lots of students play every year. It helps them learn about how the United Nations (UN) works and what it believes in. Many important people in law, government, business, and the arts, including some at the UN, played Model UN when they were students.
The UN helps Model UN by connecting with students. It shares what it really does at Model UN events, helps organizers make the game realistic, and encourages student clubs to do things that support what the UN stands for and its goals.
Because Model UN is so good at getting young people interested in what the UN does around the world and getting them to support working together internationally, the General Assembly made a decision (Resolution 77/336) saying they think Model UN is important.
